House of Bounce
With four active children, Justin and Charlotte Gibbins have long known how long and dark the winters here are, with ansty children needing to expend their pent up energy. For far too long, that energy in homes with young children throughout Boundary County has been released with the kids bouncing off walls. At 9 a.m. Friday, frazzled parents will, at last, have a good second option.

That's the day House of Bounce, 6690 Main Street, officially opens its doors, with four indoor bounce houses for kids to play in and a lounge and full espresso/coffee bar with free wi-fi for parents to sit, relax and visit while the kids have fun.

"There is a place like this in Coeur d'Alene, and we'd often drive down in winter just to let the kids expend that energy," Charlotte said. "We long though Bonners Ferry needs just such a place, and we finally decided to make it happen."

There are still stacks of lumber gracing the entry, projects in various stages of completion going on inside and obviously a lot of work still to do before opening day, but Charlotte, waiting for Justin to return from a supply run to Pro X, said everything is on track for Friday morning.

There are bounce houses with obstacle courses and one bounce house is set aside just for kids five and under. Cost is $5 per hour per child aged three to 12 or $6.50 per child for an hour and a half. Children two years old and younger can play for free. In addition, there will be weekly Nerf wars, guns and ammo provided, in two sessions for older and younger children, with up to 20 kids per session. Cost is $10 per child for a basic Nerf gun or $13 for the upgraded 60 round monster gun!

House of Bounce will also provide fun, affordable birthday parties, either during or after hours, and Charlotte said they plan to add fun things for kids to do as the business grows.

"Our main goal is to serve the community and to give to kids and their parents," she said.

Just then, Justin pulled up with two of their boys, Oliver and Scott, in tow.

If you want a testament to how much fun House of Bounce is, both boys, who've been there day after day while mom and dad work to ready for opening, immediately took off their boots and, in their stocking feet, raced to romp in their favorite house.

"They never seem to tire of it," Charlotte said.

House of Bounce, 6690 Main Street, Bonners Ferry, will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, from 1 to 5 p.m. Sundays and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday. To learn more or to book a party, call (208) 946-3021.
