Live raptors coming to KNW refuge

Birds of Prey Northwest is coming to Kootenai National Wildlife Refuge with live birds of prey at 5:30 and 7 p.m. Tuesday, December 4, and at 10 a.m. Wednesday, December 5.

The program is put on by raptor biologists Janie Veltkamp and Don Veltkamp, and hosted by the Friends of Kootenai National Wildlife Refuge.

The live raptors shown will include a western screech owl, great horned owl, Peregrine falcon, redtailed hawk, golden eagle and merlin.

The suggested donation is $5 per person. Pre-registration is required for the program of your choice as seating is limited.

To register, please call the refuge office at (208) 267-3888. To ensure that the birds stay calm and happy, please do not bring cameras or cell phones.
