Second annual Freeze in The New Year is here

December 27, 2018
The Second Annual Freeze In The New Year Campout is this weekend, and it's your chance to try out your winter camping skills and kit. It's in the same great location as last year, on the site of the Moyie Mud Bog on Eileen Road just two miles north of Moyie Springs.

Everything from RVs to tarp shelters are welcome, with plenty of parking for all. Fire wood on site is scarce, so please bring what you need with you.

Camp requirements:
• Shelter, heat, food, water, clothing, medical supplies and whatever else you need for the members of your party.
• Firearms. We will be have a range set up for those that want to shoot. Structured training will also be done during the weekend on pistol, rifle and tourniquet use. Please have ear and eye protection.
• This is a family event so everyone is welcome pets included provided they can get along with others. Also as this is a family event, it will be drug and alcohol free.

Camp location is a mixed open and wooded environment with hills. Most sites can be tailgated into. Other options exist for the more adventurous.

The Moyie Store is less than two miles from location for last minute or restock of supplies. Expect snow, freezing temps and possible rain. Some primitive shelter and a warming station will be available as well as cooking facilities.

You do not need to register, just show up with your gear ready to have fun and fellowship! There will be several training opportunities, pot luck-style community dinners and breakfast, and a Sunday church service.
