There's no place like home for the holidays: If there's an agreed-upon day that marks the beginning of the holiday season in Boundary County, it could well be the Saturday before Thanksgiving, as craft fairs and season sales offer residents the first opportunity of the season to make the circuit -- today the Kootenai Valley Mennonite Church on Moon Shadow Road is a challenge to get to for the traffic, the halls and cafeteria of the middle school are packed and the fairgrounds is awash in seasons greetings!
Trees of Care at BCH: For the third year in a row, Boundary Community Hospital is sponsoring the Christmas Trees of Care in their Outpatient Services Lobby and Boundary Community Clinics Lobby for the benefit of Boundary County children through the BoCo Backpacks program. Hand-crafted ornaments created by Naples, Mt. Hall and Valley View fifth grade students will be available.
Care-N-Share season is underway: In Boundary County, no child has to forego a visit from Santa Claus at Christmas because times are hard or money is too tight, thanks to Care-N-Share, now in its 36th year. Care-N-Share applications are available now at Panhandle Health, 7402 Caribou Street, Bonners Ferry, and at E.L. Internet Northwest, 515014 Highway 95 in the old hops barn north of Three Mile.
'Tis the season to find your Christmas tree: It is the most wonderful time of year on the Idaho Panhandle National Forests to find the perfect Christmas tree.
