I-90 road rage incident lands man in jail

A report of road rage by an armed driver on I-90 in Coeur d'Alene and a report of an armed man near the Kootenai County Courthouse this morning, which prompted a lockdown of  the facility, were the same man, now cooling his heels in the Kootenai County Jail.

According to the Idaho State Police, an ISP dispatcher was notified by a motorist of a man driving very aggressively and pointing a firearm at him at about 9 a.m. today.

ISP troopers, Coeur d'Alene Police and Kootenai County Sheriff's deputies responded and the suspect was located at the Kootenai County Courthouse after someone reported an armed man on premises at about 9:30 a.m., forcing a lockdown.

Jared R. Vansickle, 38, was taken into custody on a charge of aggravated assault and booked in to jail.
