Winter yuck advisory issued for NW Montana

December 29, 2018
The National Weather Service, Missoula, has issued a winter weather advisory for a wintry mix of precipitation from 11 p.m. today through 2 p.m. Sunday for the Kootenai/Cabinet Region and the Flathead/Mission Valleys in northwest Montana.

From a trace to three inches of snow are expected to fall during that period, pushed by winds gusting to 35 miles per hour. Rain and freezing rain are likely tonight, making travel conditions difficult on Bull Lake Road, Highway 2 from Libby to Kalispell, Highway 37 from Libby to Eureka, Highway 93 from Eureka to Whitefish and roads in Polson, Flathead Lake, Flathead Valley and Mission Valley.

A winter weather advisory for snow means periods of snow will cause primarily travel difficulties. Expect snow covered roads and limited visibility, and use caution while driving.
