Bonners Ferry woman dies in Bonner County crash

January 4, 2018
A collision that shut down Highway 95 at Dufort Road in Bonner4 County for several hours today claimed the life of a Bonners Ferry woman. Beverly Maples, 72, was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to Idaho State Police, Maples was driving a maroon 1998 Toyota Sienna van east on Dufort Road at about 4:13 p.m. when she made a left turn to travel north on Highway 95, pulling into the path of a southbound 2014 Peterbilt tractor trailer driven by Charanjit Parmar, 55, Surrey, British Columbia.

The semi crashed into the driver's side.

Maples was wearing a seatbelt and her airbag did deploy, but neither were enough to protect her. Parmar, also wearing a seat belt, was not injured.
