Janice John gaining strength, hoping to return home

Janice John, left, doing what she loves and does so well, helping out in her community. This is from the 2011 Boundary County Fair.
Diane Raaum recently happened to meet up with Janice John, who was seriously injured in a Bonners Ferry house fire November 10 at her home on Atlanta Street. Janice, she said, is looking great and hopes to come back home soon.

"She was happy for me to let you all know how she is," Diane said. "She looks great!"

Janice was in three different hospital/care centers for six weeks after the fire, in an induced coma for the first few.

"The doctors did not think she would make it," Diane said. "She has burns on her left arm that are healing well and she does have some eye damage, but she is so blessed to be with us!"

Janice is staying with her daughter in Post Falls, but as "all my friends are there," she is planning to find a Bonners Ferry apartment as soon as she is able to come home and resume being part of the community she loves and calls home.

"Please continue prayers for her, as she is still weak but getting stronger," Diane said.
