Badger wrestlers get a tough win

The Badger wrestling team traveled to Libby and took down Libby/Troy this afternoon, 48-17, but it was a tough meet that saw two previously undefeated Badgers fall.

Badgers Jake Summerfield and Austin Madden too wins on forfeits at 103 and 113, and Evan Barajas lost his first bout of the season to Buddy Doolin on an 11-9 decision at 120.

At 132, Bryan Durette fell by technical fall to Zack Morrison, and previously undefeated Eli Richards lost to a fall at 5:55 to Trey Thompson in the 145 pound weight class. Badger Kyle Smith, 152, took a win and six points, defeating Cody Crace by fall at 0:32.

Nathaniel Varelman fell by a 9-6 decision to Tucker Masters at 160, Jesse Bradley gave the Badgers six point, beating Jonathan Tinnell by fall at 4:37 at 170 and 182 Connor Underhill six more with a win over Daniel Rigne by fall at 3:42.

The Badgers will travel to North Idaho College, Coeur d'Alene, Friday and Saturday, December 14-15 for the Tri-State Tourney, then they take a break until a January 5 visit to the St. Maries Invitational.
