Badger boys fall to Lumberjacks

The Badger boys hosted St. Maries Thursday, and after a hard fought melee, St. Maries went home with the win, 64-54, and a record improved to 5-2.

Dylan Hittle had the hot hand, putting up 24 points to lead the Badgers, who outshot the Lumberjacks 19-9 in the first quarter, only to see St. Maries roar back in the second to score 22 to the Badgers 11 to go to the locker room up by one, 31-30.

The third quarter saw the Badgers retake the lead, 41-39, but in the final quarter shootout, St. Maries outscored the Badgers by 12 to take the win.

Dan Howard scored 21 to lead the St. Maries drive.

Seth Bateman posted 12 points for the Badgers, now 3-5 on the season. Chris Durette shot 11, Ty Bateman 5 and Matt Morgan 2.

The Badgers take on Lincoln County High School, Eureka, Montana, at home tonight; JV hits the floor at 3:30 p.m., varsity at 6:30 p.m.
