Lady Badgers defeat Lakeland

Holly Ansley led the Badger girls to victory at Lakeland on Friday, putting up 11 points on the way to a 45-37 win to improve their season record to 7-2.

The Badgers jumped out to a four-point lead at the end of the first quarter, 18-14, and held Lakeland to just two points while building to a 27-16 lead at the half.

The Lady Hawks managed to outscore the Badgers 12-9 in the third to go into the final quarter trailing by eight, but the final quarter saw both teams score nine to end the game 45-37.

Lakeland's Katy Ryan led all scorers with 14 points. Rounding out the scoring for the Badgers were Baylee Blackmore with 10, Jerzie Pluid with 9, Mackenzie Jackson 8, Grace Villelli 4 and Maecie Liermann with 2 points.

The Lady Badgers see action this afternoon, their final game of the year, with the JV team playing Lincoln County High School, Eureka, Montana, at 2 p.m. and the varsity squad getting underway at 5 p.m.

On Friday, January 4, the girls will kick off league play at home against Priest River.
