Badgers bring two wins home from Holiday Classic

The Lady Badgers went 2-0 at the Eagle Holiday Classic, with Jerzie Pluid hitting 18 points on the way to a 51-46 win over the Colville Indians today. Indian Mckenna Reggear led all scorers with 21 points, the only member of her team to hit double digits.

Colville jumped out to a 17-6 first quarter lead, but the Badgers dug in and outscored the Indians 20-7 to go into the half up by two, 26-24. The Indians out-scored the Lady Badgers by a point, 10-9 to make it a 35-34 game after three quarters, but a 16-12 final quarter sealed the victory for the Badgers.

Holly Ansley and Baylee Blackmore both put up 12 points in the Badger effort, Mackenzie Jackson added three, Maecie Liermann four and Grace Villelli two to finish the Badger scoring.

The Lady Badgers get a few days off to enjoy ringing in the New Year, and open league play at home next Friday against the 1-6-1 Priest River Spartans. The Badgers are ranked second currently in the Intermountain League, one win behind Timberlake, 10-2 on the season.
