Tiger rally costs Lady Badgers

The Lady Badgers traveled to Spirit Lake Tuesday night to take on the Timberlake Tigers, fought to a 24-19 halftime lead, but couldn't hold the momentum in the second half and fell, 45-33.

The loss puts the Badgers one game behind both Timberlake and Kellogg in the Intermountain League Standings, 11-3/1-1.

Brooke Jessen was the only player to hit double digits in the hard-fought game, putting up 20 points for the Tigers. Jerzie Pluid led the Badger scoring effort with 9 points.

Timberlake edged the Badger 10-7 in the first quarter, but the Badgers clawed back in the second to outscore Timberlake 17-9 to end the first half.

Timberlake scored 13 points in both the final two quarters, while holding the Badgers to seven points in the third and just two points in the fourth quarter to take the victory.

Grace Villelli scored eight points for the Lady Badgers, Maecie Liermann scored seven, Holly Ansley six and Baylee Blackmore put up three points.

The Badgers host Kellogg on Saturday, with the girls JV taking the floor at 3 p.m., boys JV at 4:30, the girls varsity starting at 6 p.m. and the boys varsity wrapping it up at 7 p.m.
